Mandatory licence for influencers

<p><strong>Have you seen a social media influencer endorsing a product recently? From July 1, social media influencers advertising brands or businesses without a license will be penalised with a fine of up to Dh10,000, and potential closure of the company.</strong></p> <p>Social media influencers can obtain the licence from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, through the Tamm platform. Advertising companies and government establishments involved in this service are also required to get a license. The fee for the license is Dh1,250 for individuals and Dh5,000 for companies.</p> <p>If the media influencer shares their everyday routine with their followers, without endorsing any product or brand, and without getting paid, they are not required to obtain this license.</p>
